What's great about it: Easy set up, low price, portability,
What's not so great: Wi-Fi needed but that's to be expected
Good things come in small packages as they say. This device is really nicely built, small, portable and easy to setup. You will need WiFi for it to work and depending on your system will be fast or lag in streaming the signal. So far no issues, no lags. The Chromecast has numerous content to stream such as Hulu plus, Youtube, HBO Go, Pandora etc. I like that I can cast from my tablet, phone, laptop etc.
All devices should be this simple to use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

can this be used on any regular laptop?

I have a toshiba laptop i recently purchased. would this work on the toshiba?
Yes as long as you have Google Chrome browser. There is an extension that allows you to cast to the tv whatever is in your browser.
