I bought my first 2597LMT from Amazon but it was defective and I returned it. Went to Best Buy and found it for the same price. I like the features such as the side pane that opens to show you any traffic delays ahead and how far they are. It locks to the GPS sats. quicker than my previous 2 Garmins and the phone app that you can transfer data to your GPS is also a big plus. Lots of features for the price.

What's great about it: Usb Port
I primarily bought this unit for the Usb port which I use for a print server. My printer works great and was easy to setup. You can also use the Usb port for network storage.

How does traffic feature work?
How do you set up traffic feature? Does it come on when there is traffic?
The traffic information is received from transmitters through the antenna inside of the power connection that came with your GPS. This information is not available in all areas but I usually get them when approaching larger metro areas. Hope this helps. You can view your traffic setup by selecting Settings in the main menu.

can I charge the Garmin using AC adapter. If yes, what are the specifications?
Yes just plug your interface cable into any USB power adapter.

when saving a location can i attach a name to the location (eg Deb's house)
Yes you can go back and edit/delete any saved location including the name.

2nd router for home
I was wondering, can 2 routers can be in the same house? I currently have a router through my cable company but the wifi does not cover the whole house. My TV room has very little, sometimes no wifi at all. Can a 2nd router be installed in my TV room? I would love to have one to streamline movies/video from my Roku & Amazon.
You should actually buy a WIFI extender such as a Netgear Model: WN2000RPT-100NAS. It works with your existing WIFI and eliminates any possible conflicts.
