So I started out a little worried about this dryer. It was taking much longer to dry small and medium size load than my old 20 yo dryer. However, after two weeks of normal use, we are seeing the efficiency and effectiveness ramp up and we are very pleased with its performance now. Loads that used to take us 2 hours are dry in 30 minutes!
Love the steam cycles for refreshing clothes without ironing!

We replaced a 10 yo washer with this one and have been very impressed. The washer easily washes a thick king size comforter (on its own). Clothes feel cleaner and smell fresher than my old agitator washer. Overall very happy.

will it work even if you dont hook up the steam
my washer and dryer are nowhere near each other ( old house, dont ask) . If later on I move and am able to use the steam option, I would like to have a dryer that can do this at that time. Will the dryer work NOW, if I dont hook up the steam option?
yes, this was one of our concern as well. but we bought the steam kit and the free installation covered hooking up Steam as well. You don't need a separate hookup than what you use for the washer.

Bleach dispenser not emptying
I just bought the wa48h7400a & for the first use I ran a bleach load, did not fill bleach to max line. Lots of bleach still in the dispenser. Just ran another bleach load, did not add any more bleach, & there's still bleach left in the dispenser. This can't be right, can it? If it empties any more bleach into the next load it'll ruin the non-bleach stuff. The dispenser doesn't seem to come out for emptying & there's nothing about this in the manual. Help!!
It flushes with water. So there is a little water left in there after the load is complete. I use Clorox 2 and Clorox and with the Clorox 2 (being blue) you can see that it empties all of the bleach out by the time you start your next wash.
We were concerned about this as well. But no bleach has ended up in a load where it doesn't belong.

Is HE Top Loader not gentle on clothes (as stated in Consumer Reports)?
Consumer Reports states that the HE top loads are not as gentle as the front loads and that the clothes are more wrinkled etc. Is that the case?
clothes have a tendency to get twisted more than my old agitator washer, but I wouldn't say the clothes are treated more harshly. Even with more twisting in the wash, I haven't noticed any additional wear an tear.

Does this machine push out water through the little plastic turbines on top in all/any other cycle(s), or only with the Aquajet Deep Clean feature?
Related, does plastic in this machine contain BPA?
There are cycles that are specific to the Aquajet feature. But others that don't use it and where you cannot select it.
