I purchased the Toshiba Canvio Connect II to replace a WD 1 TB ebook. I had little doubt that anything could be better than what I was replacing, but I was amazed at the ease with which the Canvio was to set up and the speed of the process. Backing up over two separate windows devices has been a snap. If you want a device that actually does the process of backing up your computer without hassle and frustration, is easy to set up, and is portable, then I highly recommend this device.

the NTI software
The backup software is preinstalled in the device. Once you plug into your computer, it boots up.

Can this back-up hard drive back up 2 different laptops?

I have 2 Toshiba's laptops and would like both to be backed up using only one back-up hard drive. Can this portable hard drive do that? And will their be any type of over-writing of either laptop?
I have backed up a laptop and a 2 in 1. The former was running 7 Ultimate-the latter on 8.1 and 10 home, No issues or problems. The Canvio automatically creates separate files for the devices.
