I bought one of these after seeing one my son purchased. Sometimes it's just better to use a real Windows PC to accomplish certain tasks, and this unit was a very pleasant surprise. It's quick, updates easily, has a decent display, and has pretty good battery life. My only complaint: make it easier to get the second layer of shipping screen protection off (if left on it dulls easily).

Like many, I have a collection of perfectly good old devices that I hate to discard becuase of advancing technology. Many do not care for the SoundTouch application, but I find it a relatively easy way to concentrateaccess to a variety of services, internet radio and computer music files. The new adapter brings older, and in my case beloved, equipment back to usefulness. I am very pleased.

Talked to the floor rep before purchasing. His take was that there were better items available for less, but I went with this anyway. Set up was a breeze. Phone app for checking status and confirming speeds is really easy to use, and easily handled by any one who is not excessively technical. Performance has been great; removed all the dead spots in my three level home (router is on level 2), and connection stabitly for all my devices has been greatly improved. It also looks a bit less ugly than the multiple antenna contraptions that it competes with it. I am thoroughly satisfied.

If I buy this firestick will i also be able to stream local tv channels such as nbc,abc, or fox in Detroit, MI?

Only if you buy a service that offers these (like Fox TV, CBS TV, etc.).

My husband is asking for a universal Bluetooth wireless adapter for home stero (he wants to be able to connect to his speakers) is this the correct product?

The Bose adapter is a perfectly good bluetooth adapter for a home stereo, but its real benefit is as an access point to the Bose SoundTouch software, which allows access to music services such as Amazon, SiriusXM (with an internet subscription), global radio, but for Apple fans, unfortunately no Apple Music. If these are of no interest to your husband, then there are less expensive options that are bluetooth only.

You have to purchase from a provider. The NetGear box simply handles distribution of the internet connection (provider will tell you, or rent you, the necessary modem to connect to their internet service).
