As an old guy who worked on mainframe computers, I’ve worked in data centers that had less then a tenth of this capacity utilizing many disk drives that cost thousands of times more and processed millions of records. So, I remain in perpetual awe of the continual progress manufacturers make in size, speed, reliability and make so readily available through competitive and convenient resellers like Best Buy.

Up until now was using a PS/2 mouse & keyboard. Both mouse & keyboard have on/off switch. Has a calculator key that brings up MS calculator (did not have to do anything for this to work and love this feature), volume control and mute keys and more! A few minor issues caused me to take one star; sometimes there is hesitation when keyboard control keys react (e.g. tab, enter), usually after a long pause and there is no caps lock light (guessing this is to conserve battery power). Otherwise quite pleased!

I've only been using this drive for a short time so I cannot address reliability, but in general I have had good luck with hard drives and Seagate in particular. Love this small form factor! Best Buy also has very competitive prices on these devices.

This drive is only big in terms of storage. Just plug it in and you now have an additional 2TB of storage pre-formatted in NTFS. I'm using it on XP with zero issues. I have not used it very long, but overall I have had very good luck with hard drives both internal & external (you should still back up your data, which you can do with this little gem). Got a great deal from Best Buy with $5 coupon for a total cost of $85. Hard to beat!!

Hardware-based Encryption
Is the encryption on the drive itself or the enclosure's controller chip?
In other words, if someone were to remove the drive from the enclosure and put in in a separate enclosure, is the actual drive itself still encrypted?

This is a best guess, but I'm pretty sure that the only thing the enclosure does is convert USB3 to SATA and draw power from the USB to run the drive.
