The flash drive fits snugly on the side of my laptop. I don't even need to take it out to put my laptop in my bag.
Downside is that it didn't come with some sort of lanyard or attachment to put on a keyring or other device. So, you might lose it easily. Probably a good idea to go get some string or something to use for this purpose.
I would recommend this to a friend!

will this work on a Mac?

Yes. That is what I use mine for.

I loaded the flash drive with files from my Mac, and then transferred them to a PC. Then I loaded new files from that PC onto the flash drive, and then transferred those files to my Mac. No problems at all.
