Remote Compatibility

Is it possible to connect my DirecTV remote to the sound bar? I use that one remote to control every thing else I have set up and it would be nice to keep it that way.
It worked for me, but I have an LG Smart TV and bought this sound bar unit specifically for that reason. I wired it to the optical sound jack on my TV and followed simple instructions for syncing the sound between the sound bar and my TV. Since I already had the cable remote set up to control all the functions on my TV, as soon as I synced the sound bar to the TV, my remote worked to control the sound bar as well. I'm not sure if it will work for other brands, however.

Connection

I have a 70 inch Sharp mounted on the wall with the wiring inside the wall. No wires showing. How would I connect the sound bar ?
You have to connect the wires from the unit to one of the sound jacks on the back of your set. I used the optical jack so it would sync the sound with my TV and thus the cable remote. The only wireless component is the subwoofer. That you can plug into a power outlet anywhere in the room and it will sync with the soundbar. So if you're looking for a completely wireless setup, this wouldn't work for you.
