I've had this television for about a month. I upgraded my cable service to HD to get the most out of it. I used to think that my eyesight was not good enough to see a noticeable difference. I was wrong.
I would prefer it to have one more HDMI jack because I have the three available filled and I may sometimes have need to use another.
My other minor issue is the navigation to use the features. It isn't as user friendly and intuitively obvious as I would have liked. However, part of the problem is I now have too many remotes (TV, cable box, smart BluRay player, and Fire Stick). I am using a ethernet switch to hook both the BluRay player and the television to the Internet rather than use wi-fi with both.
Overall, we are very pleased with this unit and if it lasts several years, we'll continue to be happy.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This switch replaced another one that failed after a series of three or four electric power glitches over a period of a couple of days. One disadvantage of a "smart grid" is that momentary power outages are more frequent while longer duration ones are prevented. I needed a replacement switch on short notice for my home network. As it turned out, the manufacturer of the first switch replaced it under warranty. Since I currently have 6 Ethernet jacks in the house, I reinstalled the 8 port switch when it arrived. To prevent further problems due to power glitches, I've put the switch as well as my wireless router on a battery backup/UPS. Although it was only used for a couple of weeks, this Netgear 5 port switch worked fine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can Netgear Prosafe model GS605 be used as a wireless wi-fi router?

I need a wireless Wi-Fi router to be used on a Mi Box. Currently the internet service is provided by EarthLink and a Belkin.cf2 router is used for my desk top and lap top computers.
What other parts (such as 2.4GHz/5GHz dual Wi-Fi connection cable) do I need to complete the Mi Box set up?
Your advice is much appreciated.
I can't help you with Mi Box specific questions.

The GS605 is a Ethernet switch only. It does not function as a wireless device. You can think of it like a power strip for Ethernet cable; plug an Ethernet cable into it and then you can have more wired Ethernet connections for your devices.

Is it Fanless?

If it isn't fanless what is the db rating?
It (5 port gigabit switch model GS605NA) is fanless and therefore silent.
