A few years ago my entire home entertainment system was fried by long term "Dirty Power", ie micro power drops that are not protected by traditonal surge protectors. Based on a suggestion from work friends I added an APC. The device conditions power by running it into a battery first. When it detects a power drop the battery kicks in. No more destroyed and burned plugs/adapters. Highly recommended especially for TVs, Consoles and Computers.

If you want a low power, low profile, no noise device for your media and light gaming this is your answer. The only drawback is not all apps in the google play store will work and amazon video is not available. Howerever once you install google chrome the apps will work through a browser.

Can this ethernet cable connect my ATT internet modem to my streaming player?
I have wireless ATT internet but when connected to the UTV top box player, it keeps buffering and I can't see the video. UTV box customer service suggested connecting ethernet cable directly from the ATT internet router to the UTB streaming player. Thanks for your help.
If both devices have ethernet ports there should be no problem. Most people i know with uverse use a router with multiple cat5 ports.

Is this compatible for 220 volt outlets?
No. no where near the amperage even if the plugs fit.
Appliance stores do sell a version but they are big and expensive.

Is the device grounded - 3 prong plug?
Yes. 3 outlets with back up and surge. 3-4 more with just surge.

My old E650R UPS from APC had a Powerchute s/w package and online status
My original E650R from APC had a nice Powerchute software monitor which hooked in via the dataport... this new system mandates that no connection be made through the dataport (manufacturing only??). Is there any means of monitoring status from my laptop????
No this is a simple battery back up and power conditioner.
We tried one with remote monitoring but it was way too much over kill for a basic home set up.

Yes. That is what it is designed to do. We have five in our house. No more mystery reboots due to dirty power and short term outages.
