What can you say about a thumb drive? Mainly you want one that works, and by working I mean one where file uploads and downloads are trouble-free, and one which has the full capacity as stated on the packaging. Thumb drive manufacturers have progressively been increasing capacity and prices have more or less been dropping for the same capacity over time. The SanDisk is a basic model capless thumb drive in which the USB connector slides in and out of a plastic case. The case is about the size and general shape of a medium-size nail clipper (tapering at one end). There’s a cutout to attach a lanyard, which nowadays is not included with thumb drives, but you can easily transfer the lanyard you used with your thumb drive of years ago when lanyards were included (if it’s still in good condition). The SanDisk thumb drive is formatted in FAT32, which I thought believe has a file storage size limitation of 4GB, but when I check on the drive properties in Windows, it shows the full size of 128GB as one drive. File transfer speeds were relative slow at 2-4MB per second, but if a few seconds is not an issue in transferring files or folders, then this drive is adequate to the task.

Nowadays it’s rare to see dedicated camcorders at events where everyone takes pictures or videos (weddings, parties, graduations, etc.). More than likely, people bring out their phones or tablets, or use digital cameras that can also shoot video. Why get a dedicated camcorder when phone and camera video is so good nowadays, and phones are a necessity compared to camcorders, which become an extra item to carry around? Having said that, the Samsung F90 is one of the more affordable HD (at 720p) flash camcorders available, and camcorders still have one thing that the best video-enabled phones lack: a tripod socket. (Time for that clamp-on adapter and selfie stick?) The camcorder can be mounted on a tripod and turned on to get the general view of, say, a wedding, while you can move around and take still shots from different angles. The Samsung is small, light, has 52x optical zoom, and records to SD memory cards. It also has connections for mini-USB (for charging), “composite” (which I think is mini-USB 4-pin), and HDMI (micro). However, the HDMI cable is not included; only the mini-USB and the composite, which allows connection to RCA video and stereo audio. I tried playing back HDMI using a micro HDMI adapter, but the connections were unstable and I couldn’t use it. I also tried playing back with the composite cable, but the images on a flat panel TV showed up in black and white. The best/easiest way I found to play back video is to remove the memory card and play the video using a computer. While I have not used this camcorder extensively, the video quality is very good, and I could capture still images off the video. The included battery is rated for 90 minutes of HD video, but I have not shot that much video. The design is typical for camcorders, with a righthand grip and controls and a flip-out video screen on the left. On the left side of the screen are small buttons to select the menu and a four-way joystick controller to move through the menu items. At first, the joystick froze on me and I nearly returned the camcorder, but all I needed to do was to remove and reinstall the memory card to unfreeze the joystick button. The Samsung also has a built-in lens cover (no need to lose lens caps). It’s not time to give up on dedicated camcorders yet, as this camcorder demonstrates.

It’s all about Katniss. She’s the voice and image of the Revolution against the evil President Snow of Panem. It’s mostly a propaganda battle between the two sides as each side intercepts the other’s broadcasts and inserts their own messages for their intended audiences. But there is also armed conflict as Snow tries to bomb District 13, the rebel base, out of existence. The rebels need to respond, but they can’t attack Panem’s capital district until they fulfill Katniss’ wish to save her Hunger Game partner, Peta, from the capital, where he was taken after being captured in the previous installment (“Catching Fire”) of this movie series. The secret mission to save Peta appears undone when President Snow reveals that he knows it is taking place. Surprisingly, the rebels succeed in extracting Peta, but he’s not what he seems (spoiler alert). Katniss is endangered, and this sets the stage for the upcoming finale.

I'm not sure where you got your information, but on the Samsung website for this product, it says the F90 has a "color nite shutter" with 1/30 in parentheses. It also says it can record down to 5 lux (also 1/30 second).
