Washer too deep. Can't do full load.

Don't know why tub is so deep. I can't a do full load. If you try to put a full load in the washer goes back to a wash cycle all over again. It does get the clothes clean it just can take a large load. I will keep because I've learned how to use and don't feel like sending it back. It's too deep. I have to get a step stool and a stick to get my clothes out of the bottom of the washer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

can you use tide pods in this machine

I see that there is a place to insert liquid. Can I throw a tide pod in with the laundry instead? they are HE pods.
I believe so. I always add a little extra detergent and booster to the wash because the reservoir is not big enough to hold it all. It's worth a try.
