What's great about it: keys very responsive, great snap on/off ease plus cover feature
What's not so great: the mouse is a bit difficult to use, not very responsive
Overall, its another great product to compliment the Surface line. It not only serves as a keyboard as it does an easy flip up cover to protect the screen when walking around with the device. I was also impressed with the magnetic snap on and off installation so the keyboard can easily be pulled off or snapped on when required.
The small keyboard does take a bit of getting used to although it is very responsive an ergonomically correct for form and feel. In most instances I end up back with the pen or an external mouse instead of trying to use the mouse on the keyboard. Don't get me wrong though, it does work, however, it does take sometime to get used to the feel of it. Overall, it is much easier using the keyboard when using word, typing emails, etc. I am happy with the product and it is certainly worth it, however, I do consider it a bit pricey. Around $50 would be more reasonable for a simple keyboard. The last item worth mentioning is it does add a few overall computer functions such as brightness, volume, and settings.

No, Surface only.

Is the type 2 cover compatible with the original Surface pro?
Yes, its compatible with all surface versions.
