Simple to set-up and easy to operate. You do need an HDMI cable for this.

What's great about it: Easy to set up & Great Price
We are completely behind the curve and this was our first flat screen purchase. Up within minutes out of the box. We have a very dim room and had to play around with the picture settings for a bit, but within an hour or so it was perfect. We couldn't be happier with the brand, product, etc. Will buy a Samsung and from Best Buy in the future.
This product has... Easy to set up, Great value and features for the price, Right number of connections, Easy to use remote control

Can this remote control also control my TV when I am using the dvd player?

If it is a newer Samsung TV then yes.

You can usually go to the company website and download a user manual.
