I bought these to replace the tiny steel series headset I got, didn't look back.
These are a great set for beginners. The mic stem is super long and is completely flexible so I can bend it down so it's outside of me peripheral vision, has good sensitivity so it doesn't have to be close to my mouth.
It's mostly plastic construction so if you don't baby them I feel something on them will break, the weakest point on this I would say are the swivel points where the cans connect to the headband.
The ear cushions are stiff and rigid, but the texture allows them to breathe so you don't sweat, but I find myself taking them off for a few moments every now and then for relief. I have medium-large sized ears and when the headband is properly adjusted my ears don't touch anything which I like a lot. The headband has a soft cushion and gives me no discomfort.
The sound quality is decent, lacks a little bit of low end, the simulated surround sound is really neat.

Warranty?
I recently got a Steelseries 3hv2 from a Best Buy in Calgary. Due to lack of space in my bag (I'm from Toronto), I took the product out of the box and grabbed just the headphones. I flattened the box, and put it in my bag. Now that I am back, I realized that I forgot the adapter in Calgary, and was wondering if I would be able to take the headset with the box and receipt to my local Best Buy and exchange it?
I'm not sure, it's only required for pc use, so I would call best buy and ask.
