What's great about it: Easy to use, 3-year warranty.
What's not so great: Do not instal the software!--Just plug and play.
I have never used toshiba external hard drives, but from my experience with other brands, you should always go for the one with the longest warranty period. They will all eventually fail--it is just a matter of time, but 3-year warranty will at least give you more time to look for the replacement. Maybe solid state drives will last longer, but they still are way too expensive.
This product has... Reliable, Included software is not useful, Fast, Attractive design/portable, Quiet, Large capacity/good size
About me... Budget Conscious, Work with large multimedia files, Need a simple backup solution

What's great about it: Good price!
What's not so great: Somewhat bulky.
This adapter is a must have with newer MacBooks if you want to have a good wired ethernet connection. Works great so far. If thunderbolt sticks around it will be eventually possible to get up to 20 gb of ethernet speed. Although, there is no way to know whether thunderbolt will be around for long, it is still the best way to connect wired ethernet to new MacBooks.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Fast, reliable, stunning display.
What's not so great: Lacks firewire port--kind of pain if you still have a lot of videos on mini dv tapes.
I bought this computer almost a month ago, and I like it a lot. It is a great improvement for somebody coming from a pc, and I don't think I will ever go back to using a pc.
My major complaint is that since apple no longer includes firewire port, it is a pain and an additional (although not very significant) expense to find the way to transfer the video from mini dv tapes. But it is possible.
This product is... A nice compact size, easy to set up, lightning fast
About me... Comfortable with technology
I would recommend this to a friend!

Is there any software pre-installed?

I was just curious if the backup software came pre-installed or was an optional package.
As far as I knowl it is optional.
