Much better than earlier Harmony remotes. Point at one device select and forget. No need to hold handheld remote for extended time. Software vastly improved. Still a bit limited in setup but still great. Looks like I could take extra time and customize to fit non-standard needs

Can I use this to control lighting and open a door?

I have a German door that can be operated electronically. I want to be able to unlock my door and turn certain lights on from my Apple iPhone just before arriving home. Does this system do that and how does it work? What do you need to make it work?
I believe if you have a remote for the door, yes. If if it is IP controlled and not found when searching for devices, I would say no. If has a remote it can read the commands and you can save those commands.
