Logitech - K800 Full-size Wireless Illuminated Keyboard - Black
Customize your computer with this Logitech wireless keyboard. Laser-etched backlit keys let you work in virtually any lighting conditions, while the proximity sensors detect your hands to power on the backlights. The PerfectStroke system allows for whisper-quiet, responsive typing. Featuring a unifying receiver, this Logitech wireless keyboard lets you connect one or many mice with just one USB port.
What's great about it: You can use it a distance from the computer
What's not so great: Nothing
I really like this keyboard. It allows you to use the keyboard without being tethered by a USB cable. In addition, it has a decent radio signal so you can use it more than a few feet away from the computer. It also can be used in low light as once you strike a key, the board lights up.

We currently do not have a wifi at our home but we have cell signal through AT&T for two phones and iPad. Our signal is not great, will this help boost it or is a router for wifi required?
I am not a "wifi" expert but my answer would be no. This is not a cell phone booster that some of the carriers sell, it is a wireless way to boost an existing "wifi" signal.
