What's great about it: Easy install
What's not so great: Not very useful
The chromecast doesn't work as advertised. It doesn't work with iPhone 5, is difficult to use with samsung galaxy s4 and did nothing that a roku box couldn't do. This device will be great once google gets it working across all platforms. Until then I'd wait

Time for TV to turn on

After the power button on the remote is pushed, this television takes nearly 1 minute for the picture to come on. Is that normal or a problem with my TV?
I have noticed This issue too. It's a pain, but since the TV is so good it's not a deal breaker

Does the remote control have a keyboard, and is the remote backlit?

Yes, and yes. The remote transmits from the side and the front so using the keyboard is really easy.

Compatibility with other devices

If the Bost Solo is connected to my TV, will it also work when I am operating my DVD player and video game consoles that are hooked up to my television?
As long as the audio from your external device goes into the TV, since the
Device takes it's signal from the TV audio out.

too much base.

Can anything be done to drop the base. The sound quality is great but the pounding base drives me crazy.
Hold the mute button on the remote till the system beeps (this lowers the bass level)

Is there an Apple i-phone app available for remote control alternative.?

No, this device uses IR and the iphone does not have an IR transmitter ( you can buy one but it would be cheaper to get a universal remote). Some of the android phones (Samsung Galaxy for example) can be used though

Does / can TV's remote control the volume level?

I don't want to have to use 2 remotes to control volume while watching TV. So, my question is: Can the volume level of the external speaker be controlled by the TV's own remote?
Only if your TV remote can be programmed with other device codes. If it can act like a universal remote.( use the
Bose code)
