What is the difference between a 60 Hz and a 120 Hz HDTV?
I am buying a 1080 HDTV but I do not understand the difference between a 60 Hz and 120 Hz HDTV? What is the significance?
It is the refresh rate, basically it's how many times the image is displayed on the screen.
Now , obviously you can't detect this with the naked eye, but to test or to see what I mean - - - > If you have an old video cam that has refresh rate (less than 60Hz) - you can turn it on and point it at your flat screen TV or laptop and you will see lines traveling up or down. This is because the Hz are different on both and you see the lines (refresh rate).
I tried it with my cellphone on both my new LED HD TV and new laptop, BUT they are all at the same refresh rate so I don't see any lines.
I have a new LED TV with a refresh rate of 60 Hz and it's fine, only occasionally you will see some pixilation for just a second - you will ONLY see this on programs that have fast moving objects, like a football or tennis ball.
