What's great about it: Can set volume, cut off frequency to tune for my tastes
What's not so great: For me there aren't any downsides
Good connection options, set up is easy. Provides ability to tune how it works with the rest of the audio system, based on what the other speakers can and can't do in terms of lower frequencies. Volume adjustment lets me blend it in with the other speakers so it adds to what I'm hearing and not overpowers everything else. I suppose others might set that volume control higher:)
If i turn everything down low for background sound, the indicator lets me know when the subwoofer is working or just resting.
This product has... Right size for my space, Easy to set up
About me... practical, Tech savvy

Impedance matching?

Since it's amplified and using the RCA jack, do I still need to be concerned with matching impedance with my receiver?
Not in the typical sense where you are directly powering speakers from your amplifier. You are only providing a "signal" in this case and not power to drive the speaker. So the impedance matching isn't in play in this case.
