The same problem with my original apple lightning charger... It got that short in it from a manufacturing flaw in the wires... Adapter works best!

Is this tv stand easy to assembly?

For the most part -- I would say yes. I like the way that they package and label the bolts and screws, etc (this is a big plus!!)
You will need help for some of the assembly (putting the tv onto the swivel bar, securing the middle glass shelf -- have a short Phillips screw driver ready)
This time around -- we hit a slight snag with my dad having to adjust one of the spacers (which help you screw the support bars onto the back of the tv)
It could have been something to do with the model we had b/c we didn't have to do this with our other Samsung.
It's a great tv stand and you will also need someone to load it into your car at the store
