I have my sound system plugged into it when I DJ, so I need something reliable. The best part about this on is that it has enough spacing between the plugs to allow for larger plugs.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Do not install warning

Inside the package is a warning: "DO NOT install this device if there is not at least 30 feet (10 meters) or more of wire between the electrical outlet and electrical service panel." A phone call to customer support explained that 30 feet is required else the power surge protection won't have sufficient time to react. Should a surge affect a device and the device isn't more than 30 feet from the house electrical box, I was told that the warranty would be void. The 600 joules rating is very low protection in any event. Buy this for the convenient outlets, on sale (I paid $10). Look elsewhere for surge protection.
600 Jules? IT will cost you a bit more, but none of mine are less that 2400 Jules each. They cost me an average of about $25 each, I just can't take any chances with the electronics I plug into them. I have not seen that warning on any of mine and I have ran over 50' of extension cord with no issues.

If one (or more) outlet(s) were to fail, what indications indicate that?

This unit replaces another strip whose 6 outlets failed to function, yet there was no failure indication provided by that other brand to save me the time-consuming effort to determine why I lost power to those six items (including two computers, a monitor, etc. My question is based on how best to diagnose what is wrong, should an outlet fail in the future.
Once anything like this starts to fail, I replace it! I have thousands of dollars in equipment plugged into them and I can not risk failure. We buy them for a reason and if they do not work, get rid of it.
