I wanted to upgrade my PS3 hard drive from the stock 160GB. This was a good price at the time and I just wanted to double the size, since I also have a PS4.. works well.

Can I download my games from Steam and play them off this drive?

My laptop is running out of hard drive space because I have so many games and videos on it and have been considering buying this portable drive to resolve that problem.
you would have to first install STEAM to that drive and always point to it when asked where to install games/add ons, etc..
If STEAM is not installed on that drive, it might not work the way you want it to.

does this affect wifi connection

I bought it for my xbox one but whenever it is plugged in my xbox cant connect to xbox live. Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone know a fix?
if you're using the xbox usb wifi adapter on your xbox, it might not be getting enough current to run itself when you plug in the hard drive. The hard drive has a usb3 connect.. even though it might run at usb3 speeds, the extra current its taking may be taking away from the wifi adaptor.
other than that, I don't know.

Is it compatible with a gateway laptop?

I'm looking for a laptop ata hard drive to get a older gateway notebook back up and working.. Looking for a compatible hard drive. My specks are 320.0 GB . this is what on the drive wd3200BEVT-22zcto WD scorpio. I have a hard drive failure. Could I purchase this hard drive?
it should work. it has the same interface. you wil need to load the OS from installation discs..

Can I use this on a Satellite C855D-S5116 ??

from the Toshiba website and specs on your Satellite, it should, but its also smaller size than what's in there now.
