What's great about it: Fast enough for my occasional use. Battery life is very good, 4+ hours!
What's not so great: A Bug in the N2830 CPU microcode prevents Linux from booting.
I bought this to replace a 7 year old Acer Aspire 3680 running XP/Xubuntu (dual boot). Windows 8.1 a BIG improvement over XP! The computer seems solidly built, but still light to carry. I appreciate the full-size keyboard. I'm not a big fan of touchpads in general, but this one is at least useable. Very quiet; I think it has a fan but I can't hear it. I love the larger display with the bright clear images! The DVD-RW is a nice extra not usually found on laptops in this price range. There is only an audio-out jack for headphones; no input jacks for microphone or line in. The built-in speakers are only OK; fine for speech but not up my audiophile standards for music. The N2830 CPU is very new and it still has a few bugs; it won't boot Ubuntu 14.04. But, Intel is working on a fix to the microcode, so this is only a temporary problem.

What is the average battery life?
In my usual usage (email, web surfing, document editing) the battery life is 4+ hours. But, when watching videos, it is much less, somewhere between 2 and 3 hours. I can watch one full-length movie, but not two.

is the battery replaceable
Yes, the battery is replaceable, but you have to disassemble the computer (remove screws) to get to it. See this link for how to do it:

Does the motherboard have a CPU socket?
How is the CPU attached to the motherboard?
The CPU is soldered to the motherboard. Almost the whole computer (including CPU) is on a single chip. This chip has 1170 pins! The only way to make a reliable product with this number of pins is solder them.

I need to know if this laptop has a sound card pre-installed before I purchase it.
Yes, this laptop has a sound card, but it only has a headphone output jack. There are no jacks for microphone in or line in.

Does the adapter cover 220v ?
I will buy this laptop for my mom in Korea.
In Korea, we use 220V, not 110v like America.
Question is that is the adapter dual voltage that covers up to 220V ?

Yup, the adapter works on any voltage from 100 to 240VAC 50 or 60 HZ. All you need is an adapter to fit the Korean outlets.
