The Netgear - N600 Dual-band Router With Docsis 3.0 Cable Modem - Black - the 5GHz band appears to work well however the 2.4GHz and the ethernet switch flake out repeatedly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Yes - the interface is a web based interface and has no issue working with MACs in either Safari or Firefox.

no this specific model Netgear - N600 Dual-band Router With Docsis 3.0 Cable Modem - Black is designed for cable access not DSL access.
