software and tactile

Does anyone know if i would be able to hook this up to my 'work' computer without it trying to install software, etc. I am only looking to use it as a 'normal keyboard', but also want to know if this one has the tactile / sound when pressing a key or is it a soft touch keyboard with no sound?
You only have to install the Razer synapse software if you want to make macros and use those kind of keyboard features. And the keys are very quiet on it.
