It is a cable modem, Comcast said we HAD to upgrade and this one they said was great and affordable. So we got it. It does what it is meant to do... Comcast is still calling and saying we need to upgrade our modem.

wireless connections

How many wireless devices can be connected at a time.? What other devices do I have to choose from?

This is just a modem. It receives the internet from your cable provider and only has one hard line physical connection. If you want multiple / wireless connectivity you need to get a router, not a modem.

My modem is exactly like the large picture, except the bottom icon is blue not yellow. and it is constantly blinking. What does that mean?

It blinks as data is transferred, so blinking is good. In the instruction manual that it came with it describes what different colors indicate as well if the icon should be solid or blinking and what the differences indicate.
