I've had this for over a year now and it's still working great. I've even used it to transfer files from an old computer to a new one and the process was pretty seamless. The way it's formatted along with the software make it very easy for anyone to back up and retrieve backed up files.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is a wonderful TV for the price. You get a great picture with smooth refresh. The only thing I could ask it to do better would be to work faster on the Smart apps. Netflix, Amazon, etc are very slow to load so you have to be patient. Again, for the price and what you get it's hard to find something better.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works great to adapt new iPhone to old iPod accessories. As with all apple products it's pretty expensive for what you get but there's really no alternative.

Does this work like a usb flash drive?

I'm looking for something that works like a flash drive...plug it in and copy from the hard drive or an SD card and paste it onto the external drive...is the the drive for me or is there something else that I should get? I don't want to have to install any software to read and use the drive. Thanks.
Yes, technically you could do this but because it's a traditional hard drive and has moving parts it's not an ideal mobile drive. Since they make large capacity flash drives now I would just buy one of those since they are much more durable for what you want to do.

Will I be able to transfer photos from my Samsung Galaxy S4 phone to this device?

I'm not sure if you can hook them up directly (the phone and the drive) but if you email the pics from your phone or hook your phone up to your computer you can just drop the files directly into a folder on the drive and you'd be set.
