We have had this for a couple of months now. Overall this fridge has been pretty good. It is not as silent as we had hoped and periodically we hear weird noises from the freezer, but those could be because we have it fully loaded and things might just be settling down.
The one major design flaw is that the storage options on the door are limited. You only have one shelf to keep gallon jugs and that cannot be moved to the lowest height because it will hit the tray in the main compartment. Even if I could get a second gallon shelf there isn't enough room to have two of those.
The doors don't always close properly, but we like the audible alert when the door stays open for too long.
We have not used the ice-maker so I cannot comment on that, but we do like the fact that it is thin, on the door and doesn't use up too much space. That was one of the reasons for picking this over other models.
Best Buy's installation was quick and easy, although the tile got a minor chip when moving it into place.
NOTE: Best Buy will not install unless you have their water hose, even though you can get an identical one for a lot cheaper elsewhere.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can the HANDLES be removed if necessary for moving thru a narrow opening?

I’ve seen two set screws per handle which seems to be way to take out handle, as a less invasive way than removing doors, to make overall depth narrower. Is that right?
Thanks for quick respond.
I think they can be. I believe the handles actually came separate and they were screwed on during installation.

Question Concerning Depth

The place for my refrigerator is tight on space. The manual indicates that 2" in the back is needed for air circulation:

"Too small of a distance from adjacent items may result in lower freezing capability and increased electricity charges."

In the Specs it states "Installation Clearances" of Sides 1/8", Top 1", Back 1" . Is the 2 inches ideal for Energy Efficiency and the 1 inch the Minimum Required?

I have 1/8 of an inch on the sides. The top has 8 inches of clearance. Can I get away with 1 inch in the back? Would it help to remove some of my drywall or drill holes behind the refrigerator for extra ventilation? I don't care what the back wall looks like since it is not visible.
I think the 1" is the minimum required. I would hesitate to put this with just 1/8" on the sides, although the side clearance might just be to help with installation, not really required for ventilation.
I would not remove drywall to get additional clearance - the most you are going to get is about 1/2". Drilling holes isn't going to help either - you need space for hot air to escape, so holes in the drywall aren't going to help.
The additional vertical clearance may compensate for the lack of rear clearance, but you would need to consult with someone more knowledgeable to be sure.
I would check with LG to see if the clearances are enough and more importantly if it will affect the warranty in any way. One reason for getting this fridge is it has a 10 year compressor warranty.
