Peels/skins & Pulp

Do fruits & veggies, for example oranges & bananas, need to be peeled prior to juicing? If not, is peel juiced or merely trapped in straining mesh?
How much of high fiber fruits & veggies "juiced" is wasted, ie, trapped in straining mesh?
my sources say citrus should be peeled, but the pith is fine to juice, and I would not place the entire banana in the machine. we peel carrots, ginger, and beets because many of these have skin that seems to cause the juice to taste more bitter, in our opinion. we know folks that choose not to peel carrots and beets though, just clean well before juicing.
there is a great deal of fiber trapped, we only desire the juice.
we do not waste any part of the fiber by placing this in to our worm composter where organic compost is created to feed our garden.
