My phone often has a difficult time finding it. Limted functionality on the included remote, but it a good backup.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Is the remote that comes with this unit backlit?

Does the remote that comes with the kit have a backlight? I assume that the smartphone app will use the backlighting from the smartphone.
The remote that come with it is not back lit
