What's great about it: Cooling effect is commensurate with the price paid.
What's not so great: Had minimal effect on cooling a big laptop non SSD
Using HD temp measurement software, this cooling pad had a minimal effect reducing the HD heat build up in the big laptop and worked better for a lesser laptop and HD configuration.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: Faster startup and access times
What's not so great: Runs hotter than the old drive
Great for speeding up laptop start up times and web surfing with a lot of images. It does run hotter in my laptop as measured by my disk drive software so I use a laptop cooling pad at home. I will get a 2nd one of these HDD for my other laptop as well. Would have given it 5 stars except for the heat issue.

This SSD can fit at a Sony Vaio Ultrabook 2 and 1 ? Model SVF14N15CBB .

It looks like the model 2 comes with the 1st drive as a 5400 rpm HD so it would suggest it is a 2.5" format and the 2nd HD is probably a an M.2 PCIe-type SSD.
Open up the unit and see if there is a "standard" 2.5" HD in it and this SSD will work in it. My laptop had a 2.5" 5400 rpm HD which I replaced with this SSD.
For the next trick, you will need to buy a USB-sata cable and download the free version of drive clone software to replace the current HD.

Will this drive work with Lenovo T470 Laptop

Looked at specs for the T470 and it apparently has a 256gb SSD PCIe-type (M.2 style SSD I guess) so the "standard" 2.5" type SSD like this one will not fit in the T470.
Personally, it is not something I would try.

WILL WINDOWS VISTA WORK ON THIS EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE?

If the Seagate utility to find the device on the network will run on Vista then you should be able to map the drive, such as, Z:.

Am I able to access this from outside the network it's connected to? Also, does it support a credentials login system?

Based on an email from Seagate, they will disable the remote access feature in the 1st week of April 2018.

How to setup a personal cloud? Is it difficult?

Use the Seagate utility on a windows machine to locate the device on the network and then map it, such as, Z:.

If I have this HD setup to back up my iMac, can I upload files (.pdf, .doc, etc...) currently stored on a PC from work? If so, can I access those files on my iMac?

The remote access is being disabled by Seagate in April 2018 based on an email sent out.
To access the device the computer has to be on the same network.

Effective the 1st week in April 2018 the remote access function will be disabled by Seagate in a email they just sent out. Does not affect me however ...

Can you swap out the drives for SSD drives?

There is only one drive in the box and the network i/f is probably Seagate proprietary so it is unlikely there can be any mods.

can this replace a dying fan?

so i think the fan in my laptop is on the way out. is this a workable solution to the problem? i don't have the money to buy a new one and don't feel comfortable shipping it off some place to have it fixed, if possible
My experience would suggest you look for a pad that is concave under neath the laptop to allow more air flow and possibly assist with a failing fan.
