This is the "monster truck" of laptops. I've been using a 17" Acer Nitro, and the obvious difference is the increased SSD capacity from 256MB to 512MB; each also includes a 1TB hard drive and 17" screen. I expected a very similar exterior, but find the Predator noticeably "thicker" and possibly heavier as well.
On the other hand, the thicker case has allowed use of a more conventional Ethernet port -- for the first week, I wasn't sue the Nitro included one because it hides behind a spring-loaded cover.
So: I've been pretty happy with the Nitro, and like the couple of ways the Predator improves on it. I'm a little surprised that the Predator is bulkier, but that's a price I can live with.

For several years, I had been relying on the little microwave my wire and I bought, doubling the cooking time on packages and trying not to spill anything... Finally I've moved up from that "toy"!
This one shows me what time it is now, rotates the food wile cooking, cooks in the time on the package. The first think I cooked was supposed to sit for two minutes after cooking -- the timer took care of that. Oh, and it arrived a week sooner than the website told me to expect it. I'm very pleased -- thrilled, in fact.

I wanted a Windows laptop with a big screen to do some graphics work, and 17.3" meets my needs. I'm usually connected to a network, so the 1TB of disk space was less essential, but a nice bonus in case I want to work while travelling out of wi-fi range. And the price was a pleasant surprise too!
I could use one or two more USB ports, but so far that hasn't been a major limitation. And very occasionally, I'd like to boot from a CD-ROM, which so far I haven't gotten it to do, and I can't tell why not. I doubt that a typical user would ever miss that.

I routinely buy a spare charger online, an it's far less than a new laptop. But check the wattage of the original unit; I bought a charger indicated as for my laptop model, but it turned out it was for an older revision of what the manufacturer named the same model, and didn't provide enough power for the revision I actually have...

Is Dell Inspiron 15 or Studio 15 better?
I have been looking at Dell laptops. The reviews are very good on the Studio 15, but I read that they do not have LED indicators for Caps Lock, etc. It also seems that the Inspiron 16 does not have this. Does Dell make a 15" laptop that has this basic function?
I've had components die in two 17" Dell Inspiron laptops; I suspect that the cooling built in might be inadequate. I don'y know if other models in the line would have the same issue, but if it were me, I'd opt for the Studio in hopes of avoiding problems.

What operating system can run up to 8 gigs of ram? Also can the geek squad dual boot a computer for me with Ubuntu and Vista?
I've been running Ubuntu dual booting with Windows 10 Pro (originally Windows 7 Ultimate) for a couple of years on my desktop, and it works pretty well. It was easy to set it up myself, and I'd be very surprised if Geek Squad encountered any difficulty.
The one thing I've found is that Ubuntu occasionally has difficulty connecting to my WiFi -- but if I boot Windows firs, connect, and then reboot to Ubuntu, that always works fine.
