I bought this instead of relocating the router. I'm not 100% satisfied with the unit and will probably be returning it. It'll work great for streaming video or music. For Gaming I'd recommend against this solution. It will lag spike once in awhile and can be frustrating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Wireless Router information

Can I use a (Netopia 3347 Wireless Router) for EPB Fiber Optic service?
There are better choices out there. The max speed that router can handle is 54Mbits. Fiber optic normally will support speeds a LOT faster (currently 20 times faster) I'd recommend a new router. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/netgear-wireless-ac-gigabit-router-with-4-port-ethernet-switch-black/5400765.p?id=1218642235468&skuId=5400765

This is a middle of the road option.

changing to an antenna, what do i need to keep my internet up and running

hello, I would like to know about how to use our internet with an antenna, since we will be dropping the dish and or cable???? thank you very much for your help in this matter, karen
you need an internet service provider. If you have the cable company supplying your internet access, it will stop when you disconnect services. Other option is to contact your land line phone company. Many traditional phone companies have upgraded their broadband speeds in the last few years. There are also wireless companies like Sprint or Verizon. If you plan on streaming any kind of movies, TV or playing games you'll eat through your bandwidth allowance very quickly.
