Apple - iPad® Air with Wi-Fi - 16GB - Silver
iPad® Air is 20 percent thinner1 and weighs just one pound, so it feels unbelievably light in your hand. It comes with a 9.7-inch Retina display, the A7 chip with M7 motion coprocessor, ultrafast wireless, powerful apps, and up to 10 hours of battery life.2 And over 475,000 apps in the App Store are just a tap away.3

What's great about it: Thin, Light, easy to see
What's not so great: Nothing yet
This is our family's 4th iPad. By far this is the best. My wife uses it more than her laptop. For everyone debating between an iPad and any other tablet, there is no comparison as far as ease of use, reliability, app availability and selection, or support.
This product is... responsive touch screen, easy to set up, lightning fast, Variety of apps available, Easy to navigate, Great screen size, Comfortable to hold

I would recommend this to a friend!

full hd 1080p or 720p supported?

does this adapter supports full HD? what about the sound - stereo only?
It will duplicate and reproduce whatever it is fed. It will not upscale a 720p image if that is what you were asking

cannot get tv to recognize macbook (not pro) with connector

This will not work with any older macbooks. output and resolution are not supported via HDMI. The image would need to be upscalled somehow.

Does this adapter support HDMI 1.4a? Want to use for 3D.

Only if you have a Mac with mini display listed as M-DP v.1.2. It will produce a 1080p3d image if you use a HDMI 1.4 cable.

Not possible via an adapter. You would have to use an external 3d bluray player and use airplay to mirror the image to your tv. there is software you can buy elsewhere that will convert the display image but it will not transfer through the mini display port.

It will depend on the age of the macbook pro. What year and model do you have?

This adapter does not work with samsung smart tv UN55ES6150.

I bought this from best buy and i bought a new samsung smart tv. When i tried to connect my macbook pro 13". it did not work. i tried everything possible in system preference and everywhere. but on the tv it shows that no signal!!!!
Check the HDMI cable. It will need to be a HDMI 1.3 or 1.4 to work.

Does the Mini DisplayPort-to-HDMI Adapter (RF-AP305) work with the MacMini?

Yes it does. It works with any mac that has a mini display port. Apple suggests this device or one like it when using a dual monitor setup.

Why do you claim "Thunderbotl Technology" when thunderbolt chips have not yet been released....

Thunderbolt was developed by Intel. It was commercially introduced on Apple's 2011 MacBook Pro, using the same Apple-developed connector as Mini DisplayPort, which is electrically identical to DisplayPort, but uses a smaller, non-locking connector. Though the Thunderbolt trademark was registered by Apple, full rights belong to Intel which subsequently led to the transfer of the registration from Apple to Intel. Therefore the thunderbolt is not a chip set.

Is a "Thunderbold" to HDMI adapter needed for new MacBook Air??

I was using a MacBook Pro (2011) and the mini port to HDMI display was working very well with two different external monitors (an Acer and a Samsung). Since getting the Air, both displays are poor. No amount of adjustment in resolution or calibration makes sufficient improvement. The displays are not crisp.

Is the Rocketfish Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter designed to address this? The description only describes faster transfer rates.
When you go to the displays tab in the system preferences, does it show the monitors? and if so, will it let you adjust the resolution? I am fairly sure the graphics portion of the macbook air is slightly inferior to the earlier macbook pro.
