We have owned 2 of these in the past that were under the Sears Kenmore name. First worked excellent for 4 years, then the back panel cracked, but luckily it was still under extended warranty, so Sears gave us a new one. The second one however started having issues where when we used the Oven part the Microwave would suddenly turn on by itself and we would have to unplug it to prevent the whole thing from overheating. Sears no longer carries this item under their Kenmore Elite name (which they say is basically LG products) - but they do carry the newer LG model. We found the best price at BESTBUY, and with the 4 year warranty available through BB, decided it was the right way to go. Love how the new version is like a regular oven inside making it much easier to keep clean. We hope this one will also last through the 4 years before having to be replaced.

How would you clean oven part of this microwave? Is the oven draw removeable? Can you set the timer for the oven or just the microwave?

I actually place a bowl of water inside and heat it so that it steams and condensates, thus making it easy to just wipe the inside clean. The rotating plate and spindle it sits on, are removable for washing. The tray in the oven compartment is removeable, but I don't think the entire drawer is meant to be. The Microwave and Oven are both set by Timer, but make sure you never try to operate both at the same time or you risk overheating and destruction of both - Also make sure you always let the oven compartment cool completely before attempting to use the Microwave - if not it can cause the housing to crack

Microwave oven light

So, the microwave oven light is not on during cooking (so you cannot see your food), but only comes on when you open the door?
the light in our microwave part is always on when in operation so we easily see the food - you might have a short circuit
