I needed a replacement microwave and this LG sure did the work by doing what it does by heating your food. I especially like the feature that the time goes of when not in use to conserve energy. On while in use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

is there a trim kit for this model?

No trim kit available, this is strictly a countertop microwave not under the cabinet microwave.

Can this be installed on a shelf in a cabinet over a wall oven safely?

Yes as long as you have 4 inches of space all around to prevent the microwave unit from overheating by being in an enclosed area. Not enough clearance around the cabinet, confined space can later discolor your cabinet due to hot heat, i found out the hard way. And cost me more money in the long run.

CAN THE LIGHT BE BRIGHTENED I UNDERSTAND IT IS QUITE DIM

Light bulb can be changed to brighten up inside of microwave but it's not recommended to exceed the manufacturers rating stated for each particular microwave. The exact bulb wattage needs to be replaced. Using a brighter and hotter bulb will likely damage something near it due to a hotter temperatures surrounding the bulb area. Be safe and use the the exact same or similar rated bulb dedicated to your model.

I just got this microwave and when I set the clock after maybe a 1/2 hour the time disappears. I need the clock to stay on all the time like all the other ones i have had.

Certain LG microwave models clock turns off to conserve energy. Only on while in use.
