For keyhole type speakers: what if keyhole is too small for special nut?
This response, and instructions, talk of "special nut" that fits in keyhole speakers.
"Yes, according to the directions there is a special nut that slides in the key hole then the mount itself with a spacer and the screw. The screw will tighten in the nut clamping the mount between the key hole and the mount itself."
However on my speakers the keyhole too small for the nut and hardware stores do not have a solution.
My speakers accept one of the screws included with the kit. However if I had to use one of the keyhole nuts, and it was too big for the socket in the rear of the speaker, and no one made a nut with exterior dimensions to fit, (sounds like speaker mfg. didn't properely size for common sized nuts). I would modify the nuts exterior to fit. Sounds like a project, but fairly easy to do using sand paper and some elbow greese.
