If one (or more) outlet(s) were to fail, what indications indicate that?
This unit replaces another strip whose 6 outlets failed to function, yet there was no failure indication provided by that other brand to save me the time-consuming effort to determine why I lost power to those six items (including two computers, a monitor, etc. My question is based on how best to diagnose what is wrong, should an outlet fail in the future.
Honestly,
The best way for me to see if it is a wall outlet that has failed or if it is the unit outlet. is to plug it into a known functioning outlet. So if everything in the power strip fails, take a lamp for example and take it to an outlet in your house that you know works. If you plug in the strip and the lamp works, then just one by one go down the plug till the lamp doesn't light up. If the lamp lights up on every strip outlet, then it is most likely the wall outlet, if it fails on on of the strip outlets when testing you know it is the strip.
