Our central air went out when temps in Illinois were 90 degrees. Couldnt afford a new unit just yet so we bought this one to put in our family room. It works great for small areas. We have fans going and it really cools our family room down.

Room only has sliders
The room I want to cool only has sliding glass doors, no windows. Is there some way to rig the hosing to work with sliders?
No. We have the same problem. Vent through a fireplace flue.

WHY IS MY UNIT LEAKING WATER OUT OF THE HOSE AREA
I purchase a 6ft garden hose as instructed at by the salesman. I hooked it up to the AC unit and it was suppose to drain out side the window along side the exhaust hose But it leaks out of the top of the hose where it is connected to the unit ! Why
Take it back. We have had no leaks. Shouldn't have to deal with that!

Unit not cooling
This is the third time exchanging this unit first one was the best it was cold but made a noise got another one that did not cool at all third one cools but not cold enough very frustrated all are new purchased at bestbuy within the15 day period of returning
Did you try to lower thermostat? It goes down to 62 degrees.

Has anyone measured the temp of the air coming out?
Yes, it has a thermostat. The temp can be lowered to 62 degrees. The air is cold!

vent through a fireplace?
My homeowner's association forbids the use of window air conditioners plus I have sliders so would have to jerry rig something.

Yes, we have it vented through the fireplace with open flue. Make sure that there is no hot air or backdraft once you hook it up.
