Microsoft - Surface 2 - 10.6" - 64GB
Microsoft - Surface 2 - 10.6" - 64GB
Microsoft Surface 2 Tablet: Mix work and play with a tablet that juggles business or homework just as easily as it keeps pace with your gaming and Skype chats. The touch-optimized version of Microsoft Office RT keeps you productive on the go, and the built-in kickstand features just the right angle for viewing, whether on a table or your lap.

What's great about it: Quality hardware, beautiful display, kIckstand & stereo speakers
What's not so great: App selection/Windows RT
The Surface 2 is a beautiful, solidly-build device that outperforms its predecessor [Surface RT] so many key areas that it's hard to believe they were only one iteration apart. Overall it's quite snappy and get's work done as intended, with the only drawback being its OS is Windows RT. Allow me to explain:
PROS: This device made significant hardware improvements from the previous model. It's significantly thinner--more along the thickness of a Samsung Galaxy Tab/iPad 4; It has a full 1080p HD display which makes a world of difference; It has better sounding stereo speakers; It weighs less and it it has a two-position kickstand which makes for better viewing angles when needed. The Windows 8 app version of IE is to die for and mulitasking is so fluid and such an integral part of the Windows 8 experience that if you use another OS that is the first thing you'll miss.
CONS: While most people don't use but around 40 "core" apps on their devices AND all pretty much all those apps are here it makes having 58 quintillion apps almost irrelevant. However, some of these apps are NOT the greatest apps in the mobile-device universe. For instance the Facebok app is useless because the status update column is so far in the middle of the screen that my thumbs can't even reach it; access fb from the IE app gets you better options anyway. Another app is Google+. Whoever put this app on the Microsoft marketplace is ripping you off. It's almost as if the data is located in an in-line frame rather than a traditional data feed. This means that if try clicking on a URL in the Google+ Windows 8 app, the Surface 2 pops a menu up and says in can't open the link and to look at another app in the Windows marketplace for it. ALSO, you can't do any account admin using the Amazon app either. All these shortcomings make me wonder why this rubbish is even available and QC at Microsoft. I am forced to used the IE browser app for everything, I sometimes wish I had just spent the extra money on the Dell Venue 11 Pro. Besides that, I felt the price goes from $449 for 32GB and $549 for $64GB....serioussly $100 bucks for 32GB of system RAM? That's an aggressive pricing structure for 2-gen products that you want poeple to flock towards.
Overall, if somebody asked me "Why would anybody want to buy a Surface 2?" I would say, "Because it's a solid device with a reputable company who stands behind their products....and that it has a kickstand." Every other option or spec on this device (ie screen, app store size and cost) somebody out there does it better than the Surface 2, besides the kickstand of course. No don't get me wrong, I love my Surface 2. I love the modern UI and I love Microsoft's organizational values, but the Surface RT/Pro/2/Pro 2 all have nothing somebody else can't do for better or cheaper. Spending $550+tax on a tablet that has a still left me desiring more for my money.
It delivers on it's promise though to provide a smooth Windows experience with productivity and leasure in mind.

Apple® - iPad® 2 with Wi-Fi - 16GB - Black
Apple® - iPad® 2 with Wi-Fi - 16GB - Black
The all-new thinner and lighter design makes iPad 2 even more comfortable to hold. It's even more powerful with the dual-core A5 chip, yet has the same 10 hours of battery life.1 With two cameras, you can make FaceTime video calls,2 record HD video and put a twist on your snapshots in Photo Booth. And the iPad Smart Cover attaches magnetically and wakes up, stands up and brightens up your iPad 2.3

What's great about it: Easy for children
What's not so great: Overpriced and poor productivity
Where do I start?
PROS: iPads are built with solid construction and have a wide app selection. Does this equate to an inflated price tag? Apple has duped most consumers into believing so.
CONS: Sound quality is just dismal. Just like their iPhone, Apple skimps on audio quality to provide a visual experience. A small single speaker is tinny, not very loud and makes watching anything a drag. While apps are bountiful, the browser is limited to visuals it can render (i.e. no Flash) and does not support extensions or plug-ins.
In a nutshell, iPads are for children... mostly for entertainment. If you are a business professional or somebody on a budget this is a huge disappointment. You can accomplish way more on an Android tablet or a Surface tablet. For what you get, the price is outrageously expensive.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND this tablet. It is waaay too much for too little. Sorry, but go make a wise investment and get an Android or a Surface.
This product is... Variety of apps available, Great screen size, too expensive

What's great about it: Price, Quality, Brand Recognition
What's not so great: Can get lost easy
I have been satisfied with all of my SanDisk SD Cards. They consistently deliver quality results every time with data loss. My only concern are that SD cards are so small and thin that you can easily forget you left them in a shirt pocket or a handbag.

Google - Nexus - 7" - 16GB - Black
Google - Nexus - 7" - 16GB - Black
Google Nexus - 7" - 16GB: With more pixels than an HDTV in the palm of your hand, movies appear in Full HD and even small text looks razor-sharp. Whatever you use it for — Web browsing, watching movies or gaming — you won't want to put it down.

What's great about it: Fantastic price, superior display and the most current functionality around.
What's not so great: Too much empty black space on forehead and chin--could be utilized for a large screen or front-facing speakers.
Hottest 7" tablet on the market at a very reasonable price. I was an early adapter and was surprised that Google released this tablet with software glitches. They gave since corrected the problem. Besides that, this fantastic device fits perfectly in my pocket, hand and budget. The speakers are pretty loud and the device is extremely lightweight. I'm confident that this will be my primary computing device for a very very long time.
