Laserjets provide the best output at the cheapest price for the longest time. If you don't know all the reasons, just take my word for it maybe? This one is working great. Color lasers are great too, but there is a big price jump and most people don't need color. I have a color laser at the home office, but recommended and installed this one for my mom. She uses the copier and scanner too.

Keep carpets clean with this Shark upright vacuum. It has anti-allergen technology and a HEPA filter to trap and contain 99.9 percent of particles, and it comes with pet tools for efficient removal of hair from floors and upholstery. So we bought another one for Laura's mom. We also bought online a set of filters so that we could clean one and let it dry while immediately using the second. It takes about a day for the filters to thoroughly dry if you wash them.
The big motivator to buy a second is the lighter weight, easier steering, which helps with people who find heavier models awkward or tiring.
One note--some vacuums have a wider intake. I think the narrower intake, while possibly requiring more passes to cover the floor, results in a cleaner, more maneuverable process. If you are doing this professionally, of course, every additional pass matters and you have the muscles to run a larger, heavier unit.
For ladies at home, I recommend this one.

There are more expensive modems, but this provides the highest throughput you can use in Colorado Springs. You will want to couple it with a high speed router for best results, but it is best to buy them separately as they function separately. An included cable (usually with both modem and router, you only need one) connects them. If you buy them together, you wouldn't save money, but you would need to replace them together since then they would be in the same physical package. Your cable modem can be anywhere your cable input gets to, but you want your router to be high and central in your house for best results.
Note that when I was in Best Buy the salesman was recommending a more expensive model even though (perhaps he doesn't know) the differences have no impact under today's standards, and probably for the life of the modem. My research indicated this is the most widely recognized and used cable modem in the world for today's top standards. Your cable company will know exactly what you're talking about if you buy this modem rather than renting one from the cable company.

Does Motorola have a high speed modem with a switch?
I LIKE TO DISCONNECT FROM THE INTERNET WHEN NOT IN USE. MAYBE I COULD ADD SOME SORT OF SWITCH?? ANY IDEAS?
You can unplug the wire going out (looks like an oversized phone cable) to disconnect from the internet without losing your connection to the cable company. If you turn this modem off, you will have to wait for it to "re-login" to the cable company switch/computer every time you want to turn it back on.
Since this is separate from a router, if you unplug the wire going out, there is no wireless connection or anything else to connect you to the internet.

will this work with a MAC and airport base station
yes. You can use it with any router, mac or windows pc's, but it does not include the router. It only has one connection in for cable and one out for internet (wired ethernet).

Will this modem limit capabilities of Airport Extreme?
I want to get and Airport Extreme to put downstream of my modem, hoping to get the advantages of the 802.11ac Wi-Fi technology and dual band 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. Does this modem limit the signal such that those features won't help me?
No. This will do the job perfectly.

Will this work with Cox? And do I need anything else besides the modem if I'm ordering internet and TV from them?
yes. If you order internet and TV sometimes the company provides a combination product that includes this function. You may need that product (for TV and maybe phone) whether or not you order this one, so check on this. If you have a separate set top box and you are not getting phone service as part of your "package deal," this may save you a monthly rental fee.

No. Generally your cable won't work either if the power is out, although it depends where the outage takes place.

It is generally better to buy the router separate from the cable modem. You can buy them together (two devices packaged in the same box), but there is no price savings, and then you will always need to replace them together. Routers are changing quickly right now. The newest fastest standards cost in the $300 range.

No.
Comcast builds the phone support into their modem as this is a proprietary standard. However, you can use phones over the internet in other ways as well. There are even products like "magic jack" that very inexpensively do this--not using Comcast as the phone provider (who gives you the phone number.) Skype, etc., do the same thing as an app on your computer or "device" instead of a standalone box, etc.

Explanation--it's a different standard. All computers today generally use TCP/IP over ethernet or TCP/IP over a wireless connection. This goes from the cable to TCP/IP over ethernet, using a jack that looks like a phone jack but has 8 little wires rather than four. Most computers have this jack for an internet connection, including most Windows 8. However I now have one laptop that only has wireless connections. For wireless connections, a router connects to this modem with a jack like this for an output (goes into the modem with an identical jack) (and typically four jacks like this for inputs from computers if you use the wires.)
