Not sure about this - call / ask Escort. I think it either works or it doesn't.
I've heard buying from even "new - online" retailer can be iffy for product quality. You probably did not save enough to take that chance but hopefully it works out for you. Just road test it. Give it a month.

why do i have no sound?

I have tried everything..unplugging, restarting,updating,mute on/off and still no sound.??

read your manual, reset or whatever but it sounds like you might have a defective unit. I have not read all of my manual but am sure you will find info there on "sound" / "mute". Good luck!

What color display is this unit?

As stated above, what color would you be purchasing? I know it comes in blue and red, but I don't see where it says which one this is. I'd honestly like the blue, but can't tell if it's blue or red. Thanks in advance!

Not this detector. It is legal in Ca but I wonder if it puts you on a cops "bad" side when he sees it. But no - it does not hide itself from
radar detector detectors. There are some that do.
