Dell makes excellent monitor's, and the price is good. Stay away from HP monitors!!!

my ps3s hdd is dead need new
If the size of your drive is 3.5 then a desktop serial ata will work, If the size is 2.5 then use a laptop hard drive.

500Gb Pata IDE hard drive availability
I'd like to get a new 3.5 500gb pata ide hard drive for my xp computer. Don't laugh, I do have a Win7 laptop, but a lot of my XP software either doesn't work or works poorly under Win7. Know that MS is killing their XP support in April, so I want a clean hard drive with all the latest XP upgrades before the support goes away. Much cheaper than buying all the new software to run on Win7, and don't even think about suggesting Win8. Have yet to find a single person with a laptop that cares for it.
Seagate or WD are both good drives.

can you use a ITB internal serial ATA hard drive to replace a emachine hard drive
If your using windows Vista, 7 or 8. Do not use a 1TB if running windows xp.

Which hard drive is compatible with mine
I have a Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500 GB ST3500418AS hard drive and it does not work anymore. I would like to know what hard drives are compatible with it and how you know they are compatible.
Serial ATA desktop hard drive are the same except for size. The drive is a 3.5 size and can be used in all desktop computers. If you are still running windows XP, I would not use bigger than a 500GB. For visa, 7 OR 8. Size is not a problem. I think a 1TB is the biggest I would use, and if more space is needed use an external hard drive.

Warranty
Appears to be a conflict. Specifications at the BB site shows Warranty is 5 Years for parts and labor. Several customer reviews at the BB site write...failed after 1 Year Warranty.

No, this hard drive only has a 2 year MFG warranty.
