Easy to assemble and easily supports my 55" flat panel TV. It does hang over the edges slightly though. I needed a smaller sized unit that fits in a corner. This one did the trick. The black finish matches my Sony TV.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Will a 49" Sony 4K HD fit on this stand?

My 55" Sony 4K fits . It does extend beyond the edges of the unit by an inch on either side. I can live with that. I needed a smaller sized shelf unit to fit in a corner and this one worked. I would imagine a 49" TV would fit nicely.
