The reviews for this digital antenna were instrumental in my choosing the product to access network channels for our smart TV. We installed the antenna outside (it being weatherproof) and have enjoyed 6-8 digital channels which broadcast in our area. We live in the mountains so the number of transmitters is small. However, we are pleased with the reception and are happy not to be paying for satellite or cable coverage!
I would recommend this to a friend!

What channels do you get. is there a guide that comes with antenna. How many channels.

You are limited to the broadcast channels that are within 50-60 miles of your antenna. Also, you must have a relatively clear line of sight from the transmitting towers.

If I hope this outside to my existing coax cable from my old Direct TV mount do I need anything else to hook to my digital TV in order to pick up high def signal

I did exactly that. I tapped into the old Dish Network coaxial cable that was already running to the area where we placed our tv. The signal is great and didn't have to run new cable.

Do large trees around your house pose a problem?

Yes, in the summertime when trees are full of leaves. I suspect in winter we will add 3-4 more channels because of a better line of sight signal.
