The PCI solid state drive means that this computer boots almost instantly. No more waiting! Computer is very light weight for its power and fits very well in my backpack without breaking my back. Screen gives crisp and clear images and the computer runs smoothly and very silently (unlike some others which have loud fans).
If you need a wired ethernet port (as I do for work) buy a j5 Create to add the RJ45 jack, another HDMI port and 2 more USB 3 ports. If you plug the computer's AC power adapter into the USB C port of the j5 Create you still have a spare USB C Thunderbolt port.

Worked right out the box. My newest computer does not have a ethernet port which is required for work. This is Thunderbolt 3 compatible which matches my HP Spectra x360 and is fast. If you plug the computer's power supply into this you still have an available USB c Thunderbolt port. It seems to handle the HP's 90 W power draw (gets a little warm but if you slap on a heat sink it works just fine).

Needed a cheap way to extend the cable of my earbuds (non Bluetooth) so I wasn't always accidentally jerking them out of my ears when I moved.

Worked right out of the box with a very easy set up. I am using it to pipe Wifi into my network. It has 4 ethernet ports and it had no trouble hooking up my two Windows Machines (Win 10, Win 7) and my Linux Mint machine.

Easy to set up with my TV. However the "speed dial" functions do not work well if you have digital channels that have more than 3 numbers.

Very fast stick drive that works with all of my computers both at home and at work.
Despite the claim that using a usb 3 stick on a usb 2 computer does not add speed I did notice a difference between a 16GB usb 2 stick and this 16 GB usb 3 stick. The usb 2 stick is always slower to open.
Would recommend this even if all you currently have is usb 2!

This case is protecting a 2 TB USB 3 portable hard drive that I use for backing up my most important files. I live in a basement (with a concrete floor) so I bought the most protective shell I could find. It was priced right and it is not hard to use (easy to open and close). It also secures the drive inside so that it doesn't bang around inside the shell.

I don't have access to the router in the lower level office but we share the wireless upstairs and I have the password. I want to connect a Hue lighting system and I need to connect to a router to run it. Will this work without accessing the router?

I set up this with A WIn 7 and Win 10 and a Linux computer without access to the WiFi router. Just as long as you have good signal strength and the Wifi password you should be OK as long as it is compatible with the Hue.

Is the part inserted into the USB port metal? Some PNY drives are all plastic.

Yes it is. This is a quality drive. I have owned several PNY drives over the years and have never had any trouble with them.
