Cheap but slow

Even with my fast Internet access and a minimal number of programs installed this computer is slow. I use Macs and Chromebooks at work but ever so often I need to access a website with Windows IE when at home. I wish I had saved up a little more money for a better computer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What's great about it: perfect for using WEB 2.0
What's not so great: seems a little fragile for younger users....could use more RAM
if you have wifi at home and at school this is great! You will never lose a homework assignment again since everything is in the cloud. It is light weight, the charge lasts all day. If you use Google Drive and gmail this is a perfect choice. Not great if you use multiple windows or online graphic editors. There can be a little lag with video services such as Netflix.
Buy the Chromecast dongle for $35 if you have a TV with an HDMI input and you can stream your Chromebook on your TV.
This product is... A nice compact size, easy to set up, great for students middle school and up

How do I change the time?

The month and the year are OK, but the time of day is off by 4-hrs.
I can't seem to change it in the settings. I don't have the option.
Click your the bottom right and then the gear icon. Next scroll down to Show Advanced Settings. Look for change time zone and choose the correct time zone from the drop down.

Yes. Since Vimeo is on the Web you should be OK

Can you watch DVD's on the chrome book, if you purchase an external DVD player?

No. A Chromebook is a device for accessing sites on the Web. You can view Netlix, Amazon Prime, HBO to go or Hulu for movies but you will need to pay to subscribe.

Can you use blackboard

Yes. But make sure you have a fast Internet connection. You might have better luck using the Firefox or Chrome browser rather than Internet Explorer
