I live in a 100 year old victorian home that has walls made of wood, not sheetrock, that are very hard to penetrate. I bought this router to extend my network to the second floor and it did not disappoint. The firmware is solid, it is easy to setup and I would strongly recommend this extender to anyone as one of the best on the market.

Decent Router, Buggy Firmware

This router appears to have the makings of an amazing router but it has two major setbacks. The first is the UI. While the UI is one of the slickest ones out there and this router is easily flushable to use custom firmwares, the stock firmware preinstalled is riddled with bugs. Edited fields aren't remembered after rebooting, text is displayed incorrectly at times, certain fields were not able to be seen or edited using Safari, and the list goes on. The second HUGE issue was using the USB connections with an external drive. There were countless read/write errors when copying files to the drive or trying to delete the files. This was tested from two different Macs and one Windows PC.
Outside of this two issues, the router does have a very large range and seems pretty stable. I only wish the two above mentioned issues weren't in play. If you don't need the NAS option, then this would be a good router for you.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Terrible router with broken 5 GHz band

This is a terrible router with faulty firmware from the manufacturer. After spending over three hours on the phone with Netgear I was told that there was a known bug with this router that makes the 5 GHz network inoperable. Their solutions: 1. Wait for a firmware update. 2. Go out and buy their more expensive R8000 model. Netgear's support was unbelievable terrible and I will not be recommending their product line to anyone.

Playing this just five minutes brought me back to the first day I played Halo. And it's still just as fun! The graphics, voiceovers, and musical score have ask been remastered and it's beautiful. And the added XBOX Live multiplayer is the cherry on top.

Nighthawk AC1900 for gaming????
Hey guys. I need an answer for my question. Hopefully you guys can help. I wanted to know if the Nighthawk can handle 2 PS4's simultaneously. Time Warner is our provider and currently have 50mbps down and 10 up. The console will be connected directly not WiFi as well. Also, maybe you all can tell me if it'll improve my connection and so on. Thanks in advance!
